Just like the first sighting of a migrating swallow, it just doesn’t seem like summer until Spurs are linked with a move for West Ham’s Robert Green. It’s not entirely clear where the story first emerged from this time although I picked it up from the unlikely source of the Epping Forest Guardian.

Green’s contract at Upton Park is up and it’s suggested that he will only renew it if the Hammers are promoted. If they aren’t, Spurs could move in – is that reason enough to want West Ham back in the EPL?

Several years ago however, Tottenham offered Paul Robinson a lifeline when his Leeds team were relegated but could they do so again after Blackburn’s drop was confirmed? Robbo looked the most dejected of a sorry set of Rovers players and while he’s known to be happy in the North West, will he be happy enough to see out the rest of his career in the Championship?

  1. Why the need to search the Championship when Craig Gordon is out of contract at Sunderland? He’d be an excellent signing, plus he’d offer some real competition for Brad.

  2. NO NO NO NO NO Alhabsi would be better and i have not given up on Gomes has our keeper. He is only 30 and Goalkeepers mature with age, he commands his area is great from free kicks he launches the ball fast and only has one gaff cut that out and he would be great.

  3. It’s as much down to whether Rob Green’s contract offer is attractive enough as it is whether we’re promoted.

  4. No chance. Any one, please tell me if Green is better than Gomes. If this happens I will be disappointed, as we will be taking a step backwards.

  5. We don’t need a top class keeper. We need a solid one who doesn’t let weak goals. (Aston Villa, QPR and Swansea games we dropped points because of weak goals). We don’t need to go out and spend 10 mill on a keeper that won’t make a difference. We are Spurs we don’t have the money to keep our best players, bring in complementary players and by an overvalued keeper. The only keeper who has played in the championship I hope to see in a Spurs kit is David Button.

  6. i think we should go in for joe hart he is one of the best out there and he is not that much to pay for a good keeper or if harry wants im here you only have to pay £50 a game that will do me lool
