The press seem to think that one of the more vulnerable players in the Spurs squad right now is American international Brad Friedel. While Harry was known to favour older goalkeepers throughout his managerial career, a new boss may come in and start the quest for a long term replacement straight away.

The latest in a long line of stoppers to be linked with the club is Bordeaux’s Cedric Carrasso. While he can genuinely be referred to as a French international, 30 year old Carrasso has largely been kept as third choice for France after making his debut in 2009.

The fee involved could amount to £5.5 million as opposed to the £12 million quoted for first choice Hugo Lloris but the story, that seems to originate from the Metro newspaper, may just be based on a loose connection with Laurent Blanc.

  1. Im so sad tottenham are in tatters i can see us having a terrible season . We need harry to steady the ship , we have Modric wanting to leave and possibly others . We might get Vertonghen and if it takes that long to sign one player he will be our only signing this season how sad is that ?

  2. AVB has dismissed rumours linking him with the spurs job :-(…. We are taking to long to sign Vertonghen and Im starting to think we will probably miss out on him now…. The only French keeper i would like at spurs is Lloris. If levy doesn’t get are new manager in soon we will be looking at a very poor season. Im gutted because i have always stuck up for Levy but this time it likes he has well and truly f**** up! I Like at most other fans will support are club no matter what but this is turning in to a joke and it hurts!!! COYFS!

    • I agee about the fact about trusting Levy. He has done a fantastic job for SPURS.
Let’s leave it untill after the Euros to start panicking.
But, I admit that I am slighty worried. We need a manager as soon as possible. So, if it is Blanc (it seems so, doesn’t it?) Levy will make an announcement once Spain has beaten france.
Hopefully the have already discussed possible transfers and we will get the 3-5 new signings we need.
      1 or 2 strikers,
1 maybe 2 central midfielders depending on VdV and Modric,
      Vertonghen
and a good keeper aged 24-30 (a lot of good ones out there)
The PL next season will be a lot more competitive than last year. So we really need this.

      Come on Levy

      COYS

  3. I am totally appalled at the way Levy is carrying on dragging Spurs into the gutter with his business style. He does not really have Spurs at heart its all about screwing people out of their last penny. How long does it take to sign a player or a manager. Surely when he sacked Redknapp he had a plan in mind. People call him astute but I think he is a prick who only ever thinks about money. Why has ne not signed Vertonghen? surely not for the sake of £2 million. Why has ne not sold Jenas, Bentley, Bassong or any other of the dead wood? because he can’t get the price he wants but is happy to let them sit out the season taking wages that would surely amount to the difference in what he was demanding. This guy is all about his inflated ego and does not live in the real world. We have all the talk about how well he has done regarding the new stadium but nothing really has happened and we are still years away from getting off the ground. I’m sorry but Enic has to go as they have no real committment in the club but just to make money. I would love it for someone who really loves Spurs to come in with some real ambition.

    • Look it to everybody who is bashing Levy, yes he deserves it, but this is the Chairmen he has always been. He is the reason why we have been a top 4, 5 club. So let him reset our ship during this summer, and keep our faith. The summer has just begun. Hopefully Levy will evolve into a true top chairmen, since the groundwork has already been laid.

  4. Have faith levy isnt the sort of man to not have a plan up his sleeve my moneys on blanc when spain knock france out tonight

  5. Why do people post “expert opinion” on here, based on what they can do on FIFA2012? Asking why Levy hasnt sold dead wood like Bentley and Jenas is actually pretty obvious – NO-ONE WANTS THEM! At present, because of their injury problems, we’d have problems giving them away – in the real world, a player is only worth what someone is willing to pay. So paying them both £2m a year each looks like bad business till you realise that in a years time we might get £4m – £5m for them once they have proved their fitness, ideally on loan. Thats basic common sense.

  6. I would imagine that we haven’t signed Vertonghen yet because we don’t have to have, the transfer window doesn’t open for another 7 days.
I would expect a new manager to be in place by July 1st.
If not, then I will start to worry
