The new Spurs manager will need to look closely at the current squad and consider who has a future at the club. To an extent, his job has been started for him with Niko Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka leaving the club but there may be some fans’ favourites under particular threat.

The Evening Standard claims that West Ham are monitoring the situation closely with a view to making a move for William Gallas.

The French centre half joined us on a free, two seasons ago and showed all his class at the heart of defence when he appeared on the pitch. Last season however he was dogged by injury and rarely featured.

One of the first areas the new boss will need to overhaul is the defence. Ageing and injury prone for some time now, we were down to fielding our only fit players in the centre and surely this won’t continue.

Gallas could still do a job as cover but will he be allowed, or even want to do so?

  1. unfortunately we need a shake up at the back. the tottenham centre back injury curse is starting to get old. our king ledley is sadly unable to perform at his high standards and gallas follows suit. kaboul and jan as a main pairing for me, then have cover in the form of caulker and dawson and i think we are set. gallas’ performance against arsenal for me makes him a hero already but he’s already served his time in lilywite. 2. Defence needs rebuilding. Walker, Kaboul and BAE are the future. We have Dawson on his way back, Caulker back from Swansea. Hopefully Vertonghen, and lets not forget Bassong who has the pace to play in an AVB type defence and Naughton. All quite young, athletic players. We need at least one new keeper as Brad and Carlo are fast approaching the end of their illustrious careers, Vorm from Swansea or Krul from Newcastle although neither team will want to let these quality players leave.
New manager, lets build for the future.
(Remember what they said when Ferguson took over at Man U. “You don’t win nothing with kids”. Hell, some of them are still playing now.)

  3. William will almost definitely be off this summer, unfortunately, he doesn’t have the legs for it anymore.
Was a good servant, and was epic away at Arsenal the yr before last (bale, vdv, KABOUL) but i think his wages could be put to better use now.
