Gareth Bale may have withdrawn from Team GB’s squad for the 2012 Olympics but Stuart Pearce has included Danny Rose and Steven Caulker in his group for this month’s games.

2012-13 promises to be a big season for both players and this is probably the best possible start as far as the two are concerned and if they are involved to any great extent, they could have an early opportunity to show the new Spurs manager what they can contribute.

Once the games are over, will it be more loan spells or could Rose and Caulker use the 2012 Olympics as a final springboard towards playing a full part in Tottenham’s new regime?

  1. Looking forward to seeing Caulker given some more game time, he impressed me (and i’d imagine, most of us) for Swansea last year.
Hope to have him back at the Lane next year as our 3rd choice (hopefully behind Vertonghen) and Kaboul.
Rose on the other hand, I dont know. Not sure he will feature much for team GB.

  2. I always feel DR is a better LB then LM and would like to see him play for for Team GB. Caulker as always looked like he has a big future so lets hope he can play and shine for team Gb and go on to feature for us when called on next season.HHXX

  3. Rose is pants, had a hand in costing us Champions League with his Villa red card. Should just tear up his contract.

Caulker has some potential, bit too early to tell for me though. He didn’t exactly set the world on fire at Swansea but he is only young. Hopefully the next Ledley King (without the injuries).

  4. I’m sorry you say they have something to prove, what exactly? It’s common knowledge the plan is to loan out Rose for a season to get games under his belt, which just needs to be rubber stamped by the new manager and Caulker will be in the first team squad with centre halves departing.
