A few weeks ago, Spurs were linked with a £16m move for highly rated Russian international Alan Dzagoev amidst claims by his agent and father than contact had been made.

“I don’t know if he will stay at CSKA. There are offers — from Spurs and other foreign clubs,” Dzagoev senior said at the time.

The story went quiet for a long time but reports in Italy are now suggesting that Spurs are about to go in with a definitive bid, irrespective of whether the Modric transfer goes through.

The key however could be that Luka deal and if the Croatian somehow ends up staying, then it’s more than likely that any link with Dzagoev will fail to progress beyond ‘paper talk’.

    • i think dzagoev is a great player and can get better giving his age – i admit i didnt see a lot of him but from what i saw of him at the euros he looked a fine player creative and a good finisher

  1. Yes.please, but most of all lets get some more signings…hate to say it, but if rumors are true, ArseAnal will be strong next year….Giroud, Podolski, Sahin, Cazorla, and now ever van Persie saying he might stay cause of the new “ambition”…..
WE NEED TO MAKE SOME GREAT SIGNINGS….and sort out the Modric thing….
Give me Moutinho, Cesar/Loris/Stekelenburg, Sturidge, Dzagoev and a world class striker….and keep Giovani….

    • I fully agree with this Greavsy18. I believe Giovanni will be a key player for Spurs. Dzagoev is good and would be a good signing. I personally would prefer to see Ganso who could twist a defender inside out and make them and their goal keeper look rather foolish. I would also like to see Stekelenburg, Sturridge and Djemba Ba too, or at the very least one out of the two strikers.

    • Is that you Gareth??????? Lewandowski yes please, Rondon no thanks-recently saw him being tee’d up time after time by none other than Messi and was unable to produce. Granted it was an exhibition match, but even Sandra and Bent would have got at least a brace. After a while Messi stopped passing to him even when he was wide open….

    • Nice dream you have here, but Diarra doesn’t want to come to Spurs, Sahin won’t be at Spurs, Hulk too expensive and most of these players and their large egos would never play off the bench. Besides, I see no Giovanni Dos Santos in your lineup and a Christiano Ronaldo alone would break the Spurs bank. We could only surround Ronaldo with some league two or worse players because we wouldn’t be able to afford better. Nice dream though. 🙂

  3. Tottenham hotspure draem young squad for 2012-2013 1.GK-AKINFEEV(CSKA MOSKOA), GOMES, BUTTON & 2.DEFENDER-(RB) WALKER,NAUGHTON / (CB) DAWSON, KABOUL, TASKI , GALLAS, VERTOGHEN, CAULKER / (LB) BAE, CISIKO & 3.CDM- SANDRO, PARKER, DIARRA & 4.CAM-DZAGDEV, SIGURDSON, HUDDLESTONE, LIVERMORE , VDV & 5.WING- G.SANTOS, BALE , LENNON, HULK 6.STRIKER-LLORIENTE, CARROL, DEFOE

    • Akinfeev won’t be a Spurs man anytime in the near future and I think you should forget about diarra being at the club. Certainly, I would rather have nothing to do with with the somewhat talented yet awkward Andy Carroll, even if he’s on loan. We have good players, but we need a new goalie, a CAM and one maybe two strikers. May as well throw in the towel and forget about concentrating on Adebayor.

  4. the trouble with spurs is they do not know who the hell they want to sign by the time they do go into the transfer market all the best players have gone to other clubs which is always the same old story with this club on transfers Levy is a waste of time because he hates spending money

    • I feel your pain my friend and I could agree with this except Spurs doesn’t have the money to compete with a Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United. So, instead of spend freely we must spend wisely. I think we have good players, but I also think we need 4 more signings to complete the team. 1. GK, 1 CAM and 2 CF/Strikers. this is just my opinion though, and I think we can ill afford to wait until after the Olympics.

      • CAM? Think we’re pretty well stocked there. Ideally we would sign a new goalkeeper (preferably under the age of 30) a replacement for Modric (Dzagoev would fit this description) 1 big name striker, be that Lewandowski, Ade, Damiao, whoever it may be, and then one more experienced striker who won’t mind sitting on the bench, Arouna Kone or Marco Borrielo would be good additions in that respect.

      • That`s complete and utter CRAP! Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs maybe not but Arsenal? Yes we do! We have one of the lowest debts in the EPL, rising revenue streams, a stadium in development that with provide even more funds..oh and a BILLIONAIRE owner (Joe Lewis). We have plenty of money. The only problem`s our wage structure which Arsenal has too btw. Shoot for the stars and u might just get the moon!

  5. Are Spurs looking at strikers because it seems to me that for the past two years we seem to be allergic to them. All we have done since Robbie Keane left us really is to bring Adebayor in on loan. What is wrong with Levy? Can’t he see we are desperate for strikers? We seem to be conerntrating on Adebayor but there are several reasons why we should not bother with him. Firstly he is playing games with us regarding the wagaes. Does he not realize the fact the only reason he is on the money he gets at Man City is a one off and will never happen again? The wages Man City offer are well over inflated and they only offered that sort of money because they had to otherwise players would not have joined them. Now it is different because they have bpught every good player in sight and have a good team now which means they can dictate and pick and choose players.
To me Adebayor is not the striker we need at Spurs. He is a good player but boy does he have some faults like his close control when receiving the ball, his shooting ability is very poor and the fact that he keeps drifting out wide which removes the purpose he was bought for.
Levy needs to stop procrastinating and bring in the player we have bid for at least twice over the last two years and that is Leandro Dalmiao. He is big, strong, good finisher with good close control and is pretty quick. He is also good in the air. Levy you need to offer at least £20 million for him but he will give you results. If not him then Llorente who also has similar skills.
