Tottenham have been linked with moves for many players over the course of this summer but when a new name crops up it seems worthy of mention. Roma’s Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic is that name and although this may well be more paper talk, there have been worse players mentioned as possible replacements for Luka Modric.

Pjanic is just 22 and has played for most of his senior career in France – with Metz and then Lyon. He moved to Roma as recently as 2011 but it’s felt that his club will allow him to leave, as long as they can keep Daniele De Rossi – who has been subject to interest from Manchester City.

Pjanic has 31 full international caps to his name and has developed into a real prospect while in Serie A. Roma paid just over £8m for his services a year ago but it’s rumoured that a bid of £12m will be enough to see that player move on once again.

  6. Think this guy was touted as a worthy no.14 replacement last summer when chelski came calling.Think good value and would fit right in to the midfield good passer and can only improve the team.Personally hope this rumour is going to happen.Go get him Danny boy.COYS.

      • The point I was trying to make is that he still on the team. It seems as if we don’t want to actually replace him into we actually replace him. If that is the case then we should actually replace him.

  9. Can’t Levy concentrate on gettin 2 decent strikers,what happend 2 the money that they got when they sold Pav,Keane,Krancjar and the rest?I’d rather get Falcao,Lloris,a midfielder and another striker?(Not Berbatov or Carol pls)

Chelsea have bought Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Marin,Arsenal have bought Podolski and Giroud,Man Utd have bought Van P,Kagawa and Spurs?none!!!!!!,useless board,Levy and Co are making all spurs supporters in South Africa sick,why don’t they just sell Spurs to some rich guy so that spurs can compete with Man city,Chelsea and Man utd,get 2 strikers or spurs will be relegated!!!!!!

Why are we chasing defenders & midfielders when we urgently no desperately need two strikers, i hear we are after chamakh this has to be some sort of a joke or maybe we are close to finalizing a few deals and are using chamakh’s name to throw other clubs off the scent of who we are really trying to sign or we could be finalizing deals for Ade & Leandro Damiao , if this was true i wouldn’t mind the fact that we lost the first game because we’ve got 2 good strikers coming to Spurs.

  13. i agree frankie mate,ade and leandro would be a dream!! and it would make up for levy’s dithering in the market.we’re all a bunch of pissed off yids today,especially when you get geordie twats dismissing us from our top 4 aspirations by scraping past an under strength spurs side.but if danny boy pulls his finger out for two strikers and a mid,it will be happy days……COYS

  16. dawson and tom out makes sense.dawson a great guy,but great guys dont allways make great footballers.tom on defence poor.they should make 20 to 25 mill.spurs problem in the windows is not great wages for top players.understandable on 36000 gate.you aint got you cant spend,

  17. Swear we were in for him last year too, while he was still at Lyon, as a Modric replacement.

    On top of this guy we have Biton, Medo, M’Vila and Capoue as transfer options in midfield. Looks like Hudd and Jenas are off.

    As we’re losing Daws, I reckon we should look at Inigo Martinez from Real Sociedad or Nastasic from Fiorentina, no idea who this young lad from Pescara is.

    Been raving about Aubameyang for a while, and AVB seems to like him too, you’d hope we could beat Southampton to his signature. Obviously Konate from Senegal would be a bit of a gamble, but maybe one worth taking.

    Damiao and Llorente have got to be our main targets at the moment though. Looks like Ade is pretty much done.

    Think the Olympics highlighted some great players from around the globe like that South Korean left back, what happened to Fryers by the way?
