Bad news came out of Spurs Lodge today with the confirmation that Younes Kaboul will be out of the Tottenham side for around four months after knee surgery. The French international pulled out of the game with West Brom at the weekend but the extent of the damage will come as a real blow.

“Morning all, surgery done with success. Now looking forward for my rehab. I thank you all for your great support as usual! #comingbackstronger,” Younes said on his Twitter feed today before adding,

“Sorry I forgot to mention how long … Should be 4 months.”

This will be seen by most Spurs supporters as extremely bad news but it should end any speculation concerning the future of Michael Dawson. Unless AVB has another defender lined up on deadline day it seems more than likely that Daws will find an opportunity shortly to prove that he still has a future at the Lane.

  1. So if the mighty Daws would have gone to QPR just a few days ago we’d of been screwed already! get him back in that defence where he belongs and slap that captains armband on him,if he play Gallas over Daws i’ll be pissed off!!

  2. AVB, I said that the selling of Daws would come back and bite you. Thankfully Mr THFC did not sign that QPR contract, He will lead us on and off the pitch as our proud club captain and also return to the England team. The high line game is fine, but when it comes to away games on a wednesday evening in winter, you need plan “B” A Speedy recovery to Kaboul and “go for it” AVB. Our season starts this Saturday COYS

  3. This is a fucking disaster. Kaboul’s the only defender we got who’s got the pace to play AVB’s dodgy high line. This season’s gonna be a disappointment and that’ll make Arry very smug indeed

  4. always said vertonghen and dawson is our strongest pair at the back. don’t like to see Kabbers out but fate moves in strange ways and this may have just helped AVB out p.s pleased with the way things are going teach lennon to cross and keep VDV coys

  5. Daws has always given his all for SPURS, a British bulldog who has repelled the best of opposition strikers, ask Drogba. Vertonghen and DAWS, at the heart of Spurs defence. Gallas is good, but he is at the tail end of his time and contract.

  6. I do not rate Dawson, gutted The Beast is out, was looking forward to seeing him and Jan the Man pulling off some kung foo kicks.
    Captain?
    Captain Underpants more like.
    Viva La Revolution!!

  7. Feeling bad for Kaboul. I wouldn’t like to see anyone go through stuff like this. Not even a spud player. All the same, hope Norwich spanks you lot.
