This could be the trickiest line up of all to predict, bearing in mind that there could be some significant changes in personnel between now and 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

For now however, it’s worth looking at what we have got and whether Moussa Dembele or indeed Emmanuel Adebayor could start the game. It might also be fair to assume that anyone arriving at the club from this point is unlikely to go straight into the starting XI.

So the back five could be the same as last weekend assuming everyone is fit. Even if Michael Dawson is at the club it would be a surprise if he shifts William Gallas from the starting line up.

Last weekend AVB played Lennon, Sandro, Livermore, VDV and Bale across the middle but at Noon on transfer deadline day, it’s starting to look almost certain that Van der Vaart is on his way. That could simply mean a straight swap with Dembele coming in.

Alternatively, Sigurdsson may be back into the picture or could the coach revert to a 4-4-2 with Defoe and Ade up front as we go for the Norwich jugular?

It’s anybody’s guess – here’s what we perhaps think it should be, even if it seems unlikely, but what’s your view?

  1. It depends on what transfers we get i think we may get Moutiniho, berbatov and perhaps Lloris. Also we may sell Lennon and i would rather have dembele there anyway.

    • All will be ineligible as the deadline to play today has just gone (12pm).

      Defoe should have been sold dont know why he is still here, only happy for him to be a super sub when we are struggling against the poor sides for a goal.

    This is what AVB will do. Personally I would play Caulker instead of Gallas.

  7. I think a new keeper will be on his way in if not now then definantly january , Also believe theres a midfielder or two on the way in. I expect us to line up with friedel,bae,vertoghen,galls,walker with dembelle and sandro then sigurderson bale and lennon with ade up front

  8. Going 442 would be stupid, especially with an attacking midfielder like Gylfi at CM. Norwich carved our weak 442 open last season, and we lost control of the West Brom game last week when we went to it as well. We need a stronger shape.

    I would play Sandro and Dembele as the deep 2, Gylfi behind Ade, Bale and Lennon wide.

  9. Zagreb Bar’s team looks spot-on , a Caulker start would be welcome since Gallas is OLD. I personally have no hope since VdV is leaving, Lloris and Remy fell through, Moutinho and Willian out of reach. #horribleWindow. I miss Harry

      AVB is a master poker face, remember he told portuguese press that he wouldnt be spurs manager, 1 week later it was done, even though he was spurs manager 2 weeks before it was announced.

      Honestly expect Moutinho and Lloris which will be incredible….

      I also think 1 or 2 of the following will sign, Remy, Llorente, Berba, Willian

  10. I dont think AVB will go 4-4-2, that’s not the way he likes his team to play, definately 4-3-3.

    Why have we not got LB cover, where is the marque striker and what about a proper modric replacement?

    What is going on? So much change is happening, but not getting the above sorted. We will be rubbish until Christmas. Very worried Spurs fan!!

    • Dembele is about as close to a Modric replacement than you are gonna get for 15m. He is almost perfect for us. Naugton covers both full back roles. Striker….well, it is too late in the day to sign one of those without getting totally ripped off

  14. A few have suggested Caulker, but we need points in the bag. That is the priority. We should work Caulker in later. Play Caulker in the cups, and when Gallas needs a break.

    • Swansea got a fair few points (and clean sheets) in the bag with Caulker in their side. Proven Premiership quality. Gallas always needs a break.

  17. The fact that Ade has had very little match time this season would worry me if he started as the lone striker. Would prefer to see him start with both him and Defoe and try to go for the jugular like we did last week but failed to put the early chases away. Then if he runs out of juice we can either bring Dembele to change the shape or Kane to continue with the same shape? What do I know?………

  18. Okay, would someone like to explain to me how a 35 yr old Gallas fits in to a defence that will be relying on outright pace, when playing a high line? Play Caulker, and use Gallas/Dawson if we have no other choice.

    • Playing a high line does not just need pace…….it needs a player with a brain if they do not have great pace…..hence the reason AVB likes Gallas.

      Do yourself a favor and get a video of the last game and just watch the way Gallas controlled the back four.

      Sick of guys who have no tactical knowledge spouting shite…..go get some courses behind you and learn something!
