Tottenham’s youngsters continue to dominate their Under 21 Premier League and last night the lads condemned Southampton to a 4-0 defeat. The players have taken turns in the starring role but last night it was Iago Falque who stood out with two of those four goals.

Falque opened the scoring on 21 minutes after a neat finish from Dean Parrett’s pass before Jon Obika made it two with a header from a Tom Carroll cross. The goal of the night however fell to Falque as the Spaniard struck in first half injury time.

As Southampton cleared an Obika cross, the ball fell to Iago twenty yards out and he slammed it into the top corner.

The second half was a little subdued in comparison but we did add a fourth through Souleymane Coulibaly – a striker who we’d almost forgotten about as the likes of Coulthirst, Prithchard and others have been grabbing the headlines.

The under 21’s are unbeaten in their version of the EPL and last night’s win made it four in four. The future should be bright for some of them while Iago Falque and Tom Carroll continue to challenge for a regular place with the first team.

  1. There is a consistent theme being shown over the last month. Some of our senior squad are not up to the task, whereas our younger team are continually improving. Hopefully some of these excellent younger stars can step up over the coming months as our lack of passing movement or flair for a few players in the senior side is depressing.

AVB – you have the power but you must act.

    COYYS – (Younger Spurs).
