It was inevitable that a host of Spurs players would be mentioned in connection with a move to Queens Park Rangers after former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp took up residence at Loftus Road over the weekend.
During Rangers’ last two transfer window spend ups, there were previous rumours involving a number of names including Jenas, Dawson, Gomes, Bentley and others. Now that Harry is in charge, expect that to continue right through to January 31st only this time, many of the names have changed.
Michael Dawson is one who will reappear but for now, the centre half is concentrating on his game at Spurs, having made his first league start of the campaign.
“I’m at Tottenham. I’m playing my football and I played today,” Dawson is quoted by London 24. “I love playing football and I want to be playing. There’s no hiding that and it’s hard when you’re not.”
When writing on this site during the Harry years there were constant rumours to players that previously passed through the manager’s hands – Joe Cole, Glen Johnson and Lassana Diarra to name but three. These are the easiest links of all to make but Adebayor, Defoe, Parker and Dawson to QPR? Maybe Harry can start again with Gomes, Jenas and Bentley.
