Two solid performances from Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal could finally end the uncertainty over the keeper situation at the club. Hugo was in inspired form against Lazio last week before retaining his place at White Hart Lane on Sunday and his display earned praise from many, including Emmanuel Adebayor who watched the second match from the sidelines.
“We’re happy for Lloris because he has already had some fantastic games,” Ade said.
“I knew about him when I was playing in France and I still love watching the French league, so I’ve known for a while how good he is. I am also good friends with Bafetimbi Gomis, who played with Hugo at Lyon, and he has told me a lot about him. We are very happy to have him and in the last couple of games, he has proved himself to be one of the world’s best.”
More importantly, head coach Andre Villas-Boas has also hinted at giving the Frenchman an extended run in the team.
“We want to give a run of continuity for them to feel stabilised,” Villas-Boas said. “It’s important for them and for the team too.
“The main thing here is both keepers have been doing extremely well. We’ve been shifting the keepers, not on bad performances but on good performances.”
Further down the line it could mean that AVB looks to bring Brad in for a further stint between the posts but for now at least, it seems that Hugo is set for an extended run. At least it will keep Didier Deschamps quiet for a while.
About time, keep Gallas out too and Livermore.
