With January fast approaching, transfer rumours are already gathering pace and tradition usually insists that Spurs are firmly in the frame for new faces.

However, the club are expecting the return of some long term injury victims soon and head coach Andre Villas-Boas has suggested that Spurs would not be looking to add to a fully fit squad. AVB has done without Scott Parker since the beginning of the campaign while Younes Kaboul and Benoit Assou-Ekotto were early casualties.

With the trio looking to return to action shortly, Andre claims he is happy with the current squad.

“We have three top players coming back from injury that played most of the games last season – Younes Kabul, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker,” AVB told Sky Sports.

“These will be major additions to our squad and we are happy to continue with this squad.”

AVB wouldn’t be the first Tottenham manager to put up a smokescreen ahead of the window but his assertions may be easier to believe. Do we need to strengthen and if so in which areas? If we don’t buy are we gambling on this squad staying fully fit until May?

  1. OK GUYS HERE IS WHERE I COME IN

WE WILL SELL BALE SANDRO AND LENNON

AND BUY SWP RVP AND VAN DE VAART BACK

    YOUR HEAR IT HEAR FIRST

  2. I can’t see any players coming in to be honest. Every position is filled very well. I would love to see a world class attacking midfielder come in,but where that would put Siggy and Dempsey would become a difficult question.

  3. Spures need more attaking option—–1.willian [CF , LW , CAM] 2.mountinho [CM, CDM] 3.ERIKSON [CAM] 4. MUNIUN [LW] 5.NAVAS [RW] 6.HAIDIARA [LWB]—-OUT–DEMPSEY–SIGURDSON–ROSE–HUDDLESTONE–BENTLAY–JENAS

  4. Tottenham have the money to spend following the sales of Corluka, Pav, Niko and Modric. But the biggest problem is still having players like Jenas, Gomes and Bentley on our back. They must be sold or loaned. Remember we have a 15 million wage bill than Arsenal, another 10 and we are talking 25 millions, good enough to bring William to the Lane. The question is which team will sell their best player when still in the Champions League and who want to leave a club that still plays in it. Can’t see anyone coming to our club except Huntelaar, whose contract expires in the summer and the fact that we really need another striker.
