If Spurs are going to move for a striker in this transfer window then it’s looking increasingly unlikely that Leandro Damiao is the name in the frame. It was reported earlier in the week that the club were preparing a £15m bid for the player but Andre Villas-Boas believes a deal is unlikely.

“Leandro is a player we’ve always appreciated, that this club appreciated before I arrived, but it’s extremely difficult that he’s going to join Tottenham,” AVB said.

“He’s a player that is highly rated in the market, and it’s unlikely that he will play for Tottenham.”

If Damiao is not to be then what about Alvaro Negredo? The Spanish international is tipped for a January move and if reports are to be believed, Sevilla President Jose María del Nido has landed in London in order to tout his client around the capital.

At 27, Negredo is a goal every other game man and with his club heavily in debt, could Tottenham be the team to take advantage?

    • He was crap when he started for Spain at the World cup though. Levy is thick if he doesnt buy anyone. Every fucking season he does this now.

    • its all red top bullshit, i very much doubt we’re in for him. why pay £15m for negredo, when llorente is available at a much more reasonable price (and, in my opinion, much better)…

  1. He’s a finisher like Defoe. Very useful. Please sign him. Ade has been poor is now disruptive and makes us look blunt up top. I’d much prefer this guy as cover for an inform Defoe.

  2. Negredo can be a really good option: quite tall, fine skill, good finisher (also with his head). Given the fact that he doesn’t have any resale value, Levy will not be prepared to pay over 10 million, I’m afraid. As for Damiao, if he doesn’t come to Spurs this window, he will never: we are in 3rd/4th position and the season in Brazil is over. I prefer Negredo to clinch 4th spot this season so we become an attractive option for other top drawer players. Damiao remains more an expensive gamble.

  3. Guys, this bullshit came from the Daily Fail. How many times have the written nothing but crap about Spurs & linked us to every Tom, Dick & Harry imaginable. Take it with a huge pinch of salt.
