Rumours of a possible departure for Jake Livermore had started before the Transfer Window had even begun but a twist of fate this week may well see him stay at White Hart Lane until the end of the season at least.
Queens Park Rangers were the main name in the frame but earlier this week, their manager Harry Redknapp felt that a deal was unlikely.
“He’s a player we’re interested in and it seems several other clubs are interested,” said Redknapp.
“The chairman and chief executive are dealing with it. He’s a player you’d like at your football club.”
However, Harry underlined the exact reason why Jake is expected to stay.
“They’ve picked up an injury to Sandro unfortunately and it’s up to Tottenham now whether they want to loan him out,” Harry added.
Long term, it’s still looking a little grim for Jake but with Sandro on the sidelines, he may well get his chance now as cover for Scott Parker at the very least.
