With Sandro ruled out until the end of the season, much will depend on Scott Parker in central midfield as Spurs enter the last fifteen games of the season. Scott has only just returned from his own long term injury problems but the player says he feels fit and sharp after the lay off.

“On a personal level I feel fine, really good,” said Scott on the club’s official website. “I’ve had a few games now and I’m raring to go and get right back into it.

“I was out for five months but I was in the gym every day for the best part of four months of that time, doing conditioning and strength work.”

Parker also feels that he may have benefited from the enforced spell on the sidelines.

“In a weird way I think my body needed that rest because I’ve played a lot of football for many years now and that was probably the longest I’ve been out for as long as I can remember,” he added.

“I think the break has really done me good and I feel fit and sharp. I touch wood when I say it, because football can come around and bite you on the backside, but I feel really good.”

In Sandro’s absence, everyone will be hoping that Scott can maintain that fitness level until the end of the season – particularly if Spurs fail to add to the midfield during this transfer window.

  1. I thought that too.

Having said that, in this situation (Parker and Sandro) surely the Brazillian would be Dirk Diggler?

The headline suggests that Parker is butch and Sandro is sundance, which is clearly not right, whatever way you look at it.
