With just over a week to go before the transfer window closes, the rumour mill is in full swing with several stories emerging this morning.

Most of them feature strikers and many are just rehashes of stories that have already appeared this month. One of those repeated stories today features Son Heung-Min (pictured) – the Hamburg winger / striker who has put several clubs on alert after stating that he was unlikely to renew his contract.

Palermo’s attacking midfielder Josep Ilicic is back again, presumably as Spurs continue to be frustrated in their efforts to sign Lewis Holtby this month. Slovenian Ilicic looks a real prospect but with Holtby on his way at some point, is he really needed?

However, one of the new names is a pretty exciting one – Vitesse Arnhem’s Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony. The forward, who presumably will have been called the ‘New Drogba’ at some stage has an impressive 30 goals in 51 league games in Holland and has notched 22 in his last 25.

At the moment, the suggestion of Bony joining Spurs looks to be no more than a couple of isolated stories but those are the sort of stats that are bound to get other clubs interested.

But then again there’s Gary Hooper… Where would you be looking?

  1. Gary Hooper or Jordan Rhodes in that order.
No prima donnas please, they might be 3rd choice.
No ridiculous wages either or a need for 6 months settling in.

  2. Pretty certain we will see Holtby arrive before the transfer deadline, some say even before the Leeds game. I think getting Holtby in would would be a clever move as I still think we need cover for Dembele. In addition to being able to cover Dembele, Holtby is also able to cover both wings and the attacking midfielder positions, so he could prove adequate cover for both Bale and Lennon, while also possible add something different as an attacking midfielder. In addition to that it will give him a chance to adjust to the premiership and his team mates, so that he is ready to compete for starting positions from the go next season…no brainer in my view

The only other signing I could possible see would be Negredo on deadline day…the rumour has it that Valencia are trying to buy Iago Alpas and should they manage to land him, ther is no doubt that they will let Negredo go…or more likely has to get rid of him for financial reasons. Therefore I could see Levy waiting and if no one else comes in for him, try to get him on a relatively cheap deal. Possible 10-12 mill
