A loan deal for Jake Livermore wouldn’t have come as a great surprise to Spurs fans this month, particularly as Jake’s former manager Harry Redknapp was believed to be hovering at Queens Park Rangers.
With Sandro dominating his usual central midfield place and Scott Parker returning to fitness, the chances of Livermore making the starting line up looked slim as the month began. However, those chances have increased significantly with our brilliant Brazilian set to miss the rest of the season.
If reports are to be believed, the deal taking Jake to Loftus Road until the end of the campaign was all set to be signed until Sandro’s injury. Now, it’s claimed that Andre Villas-Boas has pulled the plug on the arrangement.
QPR have since started to look elsewhere while Spurs continue to try to bring forward the transfer of Lewis Holtby from Schalke 04. As for Jake Livermore, it could still be a frustrating end to the season at White Hart Lane but would it be logical to give the player a start in the FA Cup against Leeds – one of his former loan clubs this Sunday?
