It seems that a striker is number one priority for Spurs in the summer but there are occasional rumours linking the club with a number of defenders across Europe. The centre halves seem to be settled for the next campaign and if there is a departure, it’s likely to be the veteran William Gallas.

However, the full back positions are nowhere near as settled with issues on both flanks. Kyle Walker has endured a difficult second season while on the left, BAE’s injury exposed a lack of cover and Benny himself has struggled for form since returning to the Starting XI.

The latest name to be linked with a summer move is that of Sochaux right back Sebastien Corchia. The defender is just 22 and has been capped 26 times at under 21 level but as yet, he hasn’t broken into the full French national side.

It’s thought that Corchia could be made available in the summer but with Liverpool and Arsenal looking to address defensive issues of their own, Tottenham may have serious competition for the defender’s signature.

  1. We have Adam Smith, the other Kyle and Kaboul who can all play RB. Walker is not as bad as made out and IMHO any transfer fee for this fellow would be a waste of money unless he is world class and at 22 he has not yet played for France so that says something.
