Several rumours have appeared over the course of the last 24 hours linking Chelsea’s Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku to Spurs. Looking at the 19 year olds’ overall record, it could be a good fit for the club but will it really happen?

Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 but has only played twelve times for the club and has so far failed to get on the scoresheet. At West Brom however, he has been more impressive, scoring thirteen times in 26 games and while there is a penalty or two on that list, it’s not a bad return in a mid table club.

The striker also returned a ratio approaching a goal every other game so there is huge potential here. Lukaku would also be made very welcome in a side containing international team mates Moussa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen.

However, is it really likely that Chelsea would sell any player to one of their main rivals – even if he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge?

  1. Think you have seriously mis read the situation if you think that he isnt wanted at Chelsea. He is at WBA to gain experience, which he is doing and all the signs are that he will be back at Chelsea either next season or the one after next
Irrespective he has stated that AVB isnt on his christmas card list following the way he was treated when he was Chelsea manager

    • And how did AVB treat him? Like an 18 year old striker with talent in a massively competitive squad that included Drogba, Anelka and Torres as well as Sturridge! This story seems very unlikely, but i don’t think Lukaku should complain about being mistreated at that age with those players ahead of him. if anything it’s given him the drive to prove himself which he’s doing really well for WBA.

  2. Spure need summer—- 1.GONZALO HIGAUIN 2.LENARDO DAMIAO 3. ARJUN ROBBEN OR ANOTINE GREIZMMAN 4.ERIKSON 5. MOUNTINHO 6. ETHIENE CAPOUE OR DE ROSSI OR DIAME 7.S.CORCHIA 8. MANGALA OR BENATIA OR F.SANTANA 9. LUKE SHAW 10 MARCO SILVESTRI

  3. No way this could ever happen. The player hates AVB, plus he’s a talented, expensive player who belongs to Chelsea. Total non-starter.

  4. His relationship with AVB is not overly relevant. More to the point is that fact that Chelsea have a 19 year old striker who they paid more for than any player we have EVER bought and who is banging them in while on loan.

To think they’d just hand him over to us is pure fantasy.
