With the Premier League season starting to draw to a close, the European Transfer window will be open again in a few weeks’ time and as far as Spurs are concerned, that will mean, amongst other things, another batch of rumours linking the club to Leandro Damiao.

How close the club have come to capturing the Brazilian’s signature in the past is debatable but with June approaching, there are claims from the player’s homeland that Internacional are already lining up the experienced Wagner Love as his replacement.

“Wagner Love was a name mentioned by Dunga,” said Inter executive director Newton Drummond “Coaches always want top quality players for their teams. However, he cost €4 million for Flamengo and they couldn’t meet it.”

That does suggest that Inter might use the money from any sale of Damiao to line up Love as theirnew striker and after two years of talking, it may well be time for Leandro to move on. The question is, will Spurs remain in the frame or will bigger money come in from around Europe?
