Tottenham have two fresh injury concerns ahead of the game with Southampton on Saturday but head coach Andre Villas-Boas suggested that both Emmanuel Adebayor and Moussa Dembele could be involved.

“Ade is back in training, so back in contention for the game,” AVB said after Thursday’s training session.

“We have to see Moussa in training tomorrow and we can assess his chances better then. He’s made good progress and run at different intensities, so hopefully we can have him back.”

Jake Livermore also missed the Wigan game but was unlikely to feature in tomorrow’s match so Jake is set to join Sandro, Younes Kaboul and William Gallas on the sidelines.

So we could see the same side that started the match against Wigan last week although Aaron Lennon will be pressing for a place in the side. Up front, with Spurs desperate for the three points will AVB select both strikers as he goes for the win?

    I would drop both Defoe and Ade. We need goals and they’re not getting them. I feel more confident that Gylfi, Azza and the three in midfield will score moreso than our strikers.

    • You think Lennon will score and Defoe won’t? Bore me later, i love Lennon but he’s not a goal scorer, swap gylfi with Defoe and you’ve got the team sorted!

      • …well, Defoe has scored 2 goals in his last 20 apps in all comps… Lennon has scored 2 goals in his last 20 apps too. Who is more likely? There is more to a striker’s role than just scoring, so better to put a bonafide striker up front….

    We missed Gylfi and BAE against Wigan, Dempsey and Naughton are simply inferior technically. Second half our ball retention was diabolical.
