The waiting could finally be over today with reports that Tottenham transfer target Paulinho is in London for a medical which could see his transfer to Spurs announced later this afternoon. The player was originally scheduled to arrive on Wednesday but the subsequent delay isn’t expect to have been caused by anything that would threaten the deal.
Meanwhile, the player has continued to talk up his move and while the club have kept predictably quiet, it has seemed like a done deal for some time.
“I am moving from one big club to Tottenham, another club in a big league. I am sure I will perform my job to the best of my ability. I don’t regret and I won’t regret,” the 24 year old said on Wednesday.
“I received a huge offer, to earn 10 times more. I played in Lithuania and Poland for two and a half years, and I thought that I would be hidden in Russia, stay far away from the national team, with no visibility,” he added.
“I focused on my career first and on the financial aspect later.”
So we could finally get that announcement today but in the meantime, even Wikipedia are listing Paulinho as a Spurs player but then again, they did the same with Jonas Olsson last month.
