Tottenham completed their inevitable passage into the group stages of this season’s Champions League with a 3-0 win over Dinamo Tbilisi at White Hart Lane to complete an aggregate 8-0 victory over the Georgian side.
Two first half goals from Jermain Defoe followed by a long range effort in the second period from Lewis Holtby – his first for the club – completed the win and there were plenty of positives for Andre Villas-Boas to consider after the match.
Tom Carroll looked assured in the centre of midfield while Sandro came through a full 90 minutes for the first time since January. Zeki Fryers and Harry Kane came on in the second half and Fryers in particular looked comfortable on the left flank as Tottenham ran down the clock.
The groups for the Europa League 2012-13 will be drawn tomorrow (Friday)
