It will be pretty impressive if anyone gets this spot on after so many new faces arrived at White Hart Lane over the summer. So what do we know as far as team news is concerned?

“Gylfi had a dead leg, although he did the beginning of training today,” said Andre Villas-Boas at his Thursday Press Conference.

“Erik Lamela arrived back this morning, but most of the players are fit and looking good. We are ready to go into the game.”

Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue will definitely miss the game through injury while reports state that Spurs are still waiting on a work permit for Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches.

Elsewhere, when Christian Eriksen began the season with Ajax, he started on the left side of midfield in a 4-3-3. Meanwhile, Erik Lamela tended to play on the right with Roma so that may answer a few questions assuming those two men start the game.

With Capoue out, Sandro has a perfect opportunity to return for a run in the team and will presumably play alongside Mousa Dembele who scored on his debut in the corresponding fixture last year.

So here is our best guess but what’s your view?

    We have a bunch of matches in the next 15 days, and proper rest and rotation will need to be done. Except for Eriksen and Soldado none of this 11 played on Tuesday

  3. Should b Kaboul in for Dawson as should be some consequence for him playing awfully and costing us the game at the emirates. My midfield five would be Holtby, Paulhino, Eriksen, Lamela, Townsend. Don’t need 2 holding midfielders v Norwich. Dembele has been poor in the first 3 matches and needs to be dropped, Holtbylooks in better form.

  4. Dembele runs with the ball from midfield and is always
    being caught in possession, before he decides to make the obvious pass to his front runners. This problem causes the forwards to run offside, waiting for the through ball that will never come. He should be dropped immediately.

  5. Dembele needs to start delivering otherwise a fit Holtby is much better.

  6. thats a very gud team selection, interesting, i think mayb holtby wud also fit in their very snugly, but mayb that will br starting 11,
    and mayb lamela wont start but thats close to who i personally wud start, giving daws a chance to redeem himself, with players coming back to full fitness, other wise AVB does need to show trust in his squad, and start to rotate to get every1 som minutes .

  9. Paulinho and Lamela only got back from America on Thursday so doubt if they will start, so I´d go with –

    Lloris
    Walker – Kaboul – Vertonghen – Rose
    Sandro – Dembele
    Townsend – Eriksen – Chadli
    Soldado

    With Freidal, Chiriches (work permit allowing) Dawson, Holtby, Lamela, Defoe and Kane on the bench more than good enough to beat the No Witches.

    All those seven to start on Thursday against Tromso with four others including Naughton, Fryers plus Lennon and Siggy if they have recovered.
