The press has been full of reports claiming that Spurs made an approach to former AC Milan centre forward Alexandre Pato in the summer. The 24 year old is back in Brazil with Corinthians but claims that he turned down Tottenham’s offer to return to European football.
“Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer,” Pato said.
“I sat at the table with the club and my agent and I decided I wanted to stay.”
With Spurs sticking rigidly to a 4-2-3-1 formation there seems little room for any further arrivals up top but more and more claims are coming through regarding a possible sale of Jermain Defoe. The England international has been impressive in the Europa League this season but at the age of 31 and with just 18 months left on his contract, could the club be about to cash in?
Pato for Defoe – would you take it?
defoe adabayer—-benteke / sandro—xabi alonso or andre pirlo or fernando rages / naughton–fabio contrao / lennon or chandli(loan out)– lavezzi or salvio or tello / holtby–pjanic or mata or koke or hernanes corchia or boeteng or montaya
I’d take Pat Sharp over defoe, let alone Pato.
No brainer for me!!
Don’t want to lose defoe cuz he will make us pay just like when he was at portsmoth
