Spurs have suffered three league defeats this season and every single one has come ahead of a long international break. As fans wait to see what happens next, many of the players have been away with their countries but club captain Michael Dawson isn’t currently involved with England and has been looking back at the Newcastle match.

“We’ve tried not to dwell on the Newcastle defeat and we’ll come back again. That’s the spirit we have at the club,” Daws said on the official website.

Michael also pointed to the fact that we’ve so far managed to bounce back after each reverse.

“We had the disappointments against Arsenal and West Ham and came back and put it right,” the skipper added.

“We’ve had some great results after those defeats.”

Two weeks is a long time to wait to put things right but getting six points from our next two games will be the biggest challenge yet for this new look squad.
