Tottenham duly completed their clean sweep of wins in the Group stage of the Europa League with a 4-1 demolition of a weak Anzhi team and we now await our fate ahead of the knockout draw which takes place on Monday.

The highlight of a solid performance was Roberto Soldado’s hat trick and after a difficult start to his White Hart Lane career, the striker now has a respectable nine goals in 16 games in all competitions.

Soldado will have given Andre Villas-Boas a selection problem ahead of the game with Liverpool on Sunday and the manager acknowledged his effort.

“It was important for him,” said Andre. “A striker lives off goals and for Roberto to score three is going to be major for his confidence. It’s also important for him on a personal note. You could sense his satisfaction on the pitch and hopefully he’ll take that confidence into the following fixtures.”

Roberto lost his place to Jermain Defoe after a barren run but will last night’s display be enough to see the Spaniard start the game on Sunday at JD’s expense?

  1. 4 player need to staring line up against liverpool 1.dany rose [defensivaly attak moer box to box on handle left side attak] 2.holtby [triky box to box moer danger on attak and combination witn lamela] 3.erik lamela [regain starting against anzi we think give her chance to prove] 4 soldado [back on trak ]

    • Is Lennon not fit? Lamela showed us a few things last night. Chiefly that he can’t provide us any real width. Almost all night long he was tripping over Siggy or Holtby. Lamela was at his best after Siggy came off and Holtby was forced back some by the removal of Dembele. If you’re going to start Soldado who absolutely thrived on the width Townsend created then I think Lennon needs to start as well. Lennon and Walker down the right with Townsend and Rose down the left, I can’t wait.

  2. Yeah it has to be Soldado,. He is still settling in, so you could argue he should have had a few more Europa fixtures at the start to get him used to the lads, but either way, he’s just scored a hat-trick and we/he should capitalize on that against the bin-dippers!

I have to say, I thought he actually worked harder to link up play and run the channels last night,.. But obviously, the key difference was the width and therefore the service to him!!

Great to see Danny Rose back as we need him so much, great to see Lamela get a few nice moments (needs to play more) and also refreshing to see Siggy in a central position!! – A Left Winger he is NOT!!
    COYS.

  3. Line-up against the bin-dippers:

    GK – Lloris
    LFB – Rose
    LCB – Chiriches
    RCB – Dawson
    RFB – Walker
    CMF – Sandro
    CMF – Capoue
    CMF – Paulinhio
    LWF – Townsend
    RWF – Lennon
    CF – Soldado
