Spurs interim boss Tim Sherwood was disappointed at last night’s league cup defeat to West Ham but as our first chance of silverware disappeared, the club’s official website were happy to point out our dominance.
The first half ended with us having 12 shots on goal compared to the Hammers’ two and possession was 70% in our favour. It did start to look promising in the second half with the recalled Emmanuel Adebayor putting us in front but two late goals sent West Ham into the final at our expense.
“We started the game well and should have scored early but the ball didn’t run for us,” said the boss.
Sherwood also defended the decision to take off Ade when we were in the lead.
“We were forced to make the changes which meant we lost a bit of rhythm.
“Ade had to come off, Danny Rose had to come off otherwise you risk losing them for a long period during the season.
“We turned over possession a lot in the second half when we just should have kept the ball.
“West Ham came at us, played direct and broke us down in the end. I’m absolutely gutted.”
So the Capital One Cup challenge is over – next up is Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday.
why the hell are the likes of tim sherwood and glenn huddle in the consideration for the tottenham job.
all they`l do are to prioritize english players in the team.
The obvious problem with this are that the english players at our club, is mediocre at best.

For me it was our best performance of the season til the end and I believe if we play like that with proper defenders and a more defensive midfielder then we will really do well

I’ve been saying that for the last few seasons, for Defoe to score you need a goal twice as wide and twice the height. A total waste of space and yet you see fan praising him as a Spurs Legend, if anything he’s still a West Ham supporter.
This was west-ham at home.

It was correct to sack avb, cause of lack of entertaining football. but defoe doesn’t offer anything that sold ado doesn’t do better.
lennon and townsend are up and down, neither are top quality. lamella is world class. needs to adjust, but can’t do that before given game time. when we spend that kind of money we need to show some faith and play the lad.
townsen have been given all the faith in the world, but produced nothing.
avb should have kept caulker and sold dawson
spot on dawson is past it and we should have kept caulker, think last nights game changed when sherwood took ade off should have replaced with soldardo and kept two up front, in bringing holtby on we invited west ham on to us and paid the price,not to bothered now after hearing the draw no one wants to play man city do they.

also agree with you about dawson who hasnt got the composure required in defence – it’s also true that the english playeres are mediocre even my once great hope, walker seems to be disappearing into the ego fog
Last nights game was just a total fxxking embarrassment to lose at HOME to a poor poor team like west ham.
People may disagree but I`ve said it once and will say it again “I blame Levy all the time”.. whatever manager we will employ to manage our team he will never be left to manage or buy the players he actually wants without Levy and co interfering, Be it Redknapp, AVB or whoever we get next, levy has undermined, overuled and then ultimately sacked them,.
I honestly believe AVB didn`t want half the players we brought,, Moutinho, Oscar, Willian, Coetrao, Villa and Hulk etc etc, and we didn`t get one of them players.. I hope I`m wrong but honestly can`t see our club getting any better whilst it`s run by Levy and co..
