Tottenham’s Technical Director Franco Baldini hasn’t entirely escaped criticism in the wake of Andre Villas-Boas’ departure and many of the Spurs related headlines in the last 24 hours centre around the club’s transfer policy.

How much did AVB know about the players that came in and did he really want them there? There are conflicting answers to that question but according to the media today, Baldini ploughs on and is set to return to his former club Roma in an attempt to capture Dodo – their 21 year old Brazilian left back.

Dodo takes the number 3 shirt in the Roma squad but is by no means a regular in the first team and it’s claimed that Baldini believes he can bring the Brazil Under 20 International to White Hart Lane in January.

Reports claim that the youngster is a real prospect but is it a case of Spurs needing a left back + Baldini’s links with Roma = a useful story to fill some column inches? If that is the case then the deal for Dodo is as dead as a – well, you know the rest.

  1. right now I dont think we need 2 buy players….as far as left back is concerned, jus get bae back 4m qpr… by this rose will also get good 1st team football, & we ll hv a decent back up. there is no point in buying coentrao , Shaw, etc who r all very expensive wen we hv a talent like rose…

  2. paulino, holtby, sandro, capoe, dembele – we hv 5 central midfield players(apart 4m eriksen & siggy who will be our no10)… sandro & capoe – defense mid… that leaves 3 of holtby, pauly, dembele fighting for 1 position…. certainly we wont sell pauly, & holtby looks like a decent back up… dembele, though he s a good player, we hv no option but 2 sell him
