There’s five days to go in the January transfer window and so far, it’s all quiet at White Hart Lane save for the odd loan deal and the permanent sale of Simon Dawkins to Derby. It’s a little too early to guess Tim Sherwood’s thoughts on the current squad, particularly with a number of injuries at the club in recent times but who is set to leave this week, temporarily or otherwise?

Heurelho Gomes looks a near certainty after stating he was off this week to re-join PSV in Holland.

‘Good morning! Off to Eindhoven! God bless you all,’ the Brazilian said with an accompanying Instagram picture.

We can probably disregard the stories surrounding Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris. The papers have already forgotten about the Belgian’s trip to Florence and will do the same over our keeper in a couple of days’ time.

So that leaves possibilities regarding Etienne Capoue who may or may not be off to Napoli if the clubs can agree on a fee. Meanwhile reports of loan deals for Lewis Holtby, Nacer Chadli and Erik Lamela persist.

Who can you see leaving this week and who would you not want to lose?

  1. Gomes, capoue, holtby, lamela(loan), livermore, chadli, defoe all way to out new manager shrewood 4-4-2 attaking formation suitable player ALEX SANDRO, GAURIN, BERNARD(LOAN), MUNIUN, VUCINIC, HULK

    • Capoue i reckon will go, Lamela will come good and shows glimpses. He has had a lot of goal bound shots blocked and just needs confidence. We have a good squad so lets see money invrsted in youth starlets.

  2. what are u talking about akshay???? we played 4-5-1 in our last game or did you not see it? Lamela, Holtby are going no where. Capoue may be sold, big deal, he’s barely kicked a ball for us all season, what on earth are you talking about anyway you really no nothing about football… isnt there another sport u like akshay???

  3. Looks like Capoue will leave, as jim says it’s no biggie. He’s behind Bentaleb anyway, got to be gutted with that.
We certainly don’t need a squad that’s too big, we’re only in 2 competitions. So i wouldn’t mind if Holtby left, i do like him but he won’t get ahead of Paulinho, Sandro, Eriksson, Townsend, lennon or Dembele. And it’s WC year so he needs to play. If Holtby and Capoue leave then if we do get someone in then they have to be immense.

  4. Erm , miss leading quotes , pretty much what you expect really , Gomes has since said that he is not going to PSV, and that he was visiting friends , which he has a lot there. He also thanked everyone for their best/well wishes for his future .
I really do not like people bending what exactly players are saying , and splicing 2 different quotes , to make it sound like something it aint ……. Please report truthfully , as most of us know more than others , but would still like to hear/see honest reporting …

  5. We need a good LB!! Such as Luke Shaw. Not sure rose is up to the task? Also need another striker, prefably a young starlet such as Beradi if not has to be Lukaku or Benteke! Also we need a true Left einger as we havent replaced Bale despite spending 100mill??? Come on Levy dig deep and spend for our long term future as only spent Bale transfer money so far! Move on capoue, chadli and bring in some talent.

  6. Reports are stating a 22,5 m offer from Chelski for Luke Shaw. Do not see us competing for his signature.
Allthough he might want to join us and do a ‘Gareth Bale’. He is after all a young left back from Southampton.

    • I think it may be one of those “boyhood club, dream to play there” scenarios regarding Shaw and Chelsea.
Or they dig deep into the bottomless pockets.
Either way I can’t see us in the running for him.

Amazing how many players loved mone…….. Sorry, Chelsea as kids
