It may have been the most read story on Spurs news feeds yesterday but the suggestion that Spurs are preparing a bid for Parma’s Jonathan Biabiany isn’t one to get too excited about. The report claims that Tim Sherwood is keen on the player and that the club are preparing a bid in the region of £7.5m but what are his credentials?

French under 21 international Biabiany can play as a forward or a right winger so his versatility is a positive but with seven goals in 63 league appearances for his current employers, you’d hope that he hasn’t played in the centre too often.

At 25, the player is with his fifth professional side and at this point in his career there’s been no sign of any full international recognition. As Harry Redknapp might say, ‘I don’t know where they get these stories from’.

Look at Januzzai! – He’s 18, and hes probably got more goals from out wide than whoever this bloke is, in half the appearances and in a proper league,….
