We were expecting some kind of action on transfer deadline day – at least as far as Tottenham departures are concerned – but few would have foreseen this morning’s link suggesting that Andros Townsend is on his way to Manchester United.
The story seems to have started in the Sun and has been picked up by several sources although no-one can seem to agree on a fee. Andros started Tim Sherwood’s first game in charge against West Ham but a hamstring injury has sidelined the winger ever since.
Meanwhile, there’s a fresh link citing a potential swap deal involving Nani and Kyle Walker – looks like it might be an interesting day after all…
United and Moyes can dream all they want Townsend will stay.
