Spurs’ head coach Tim Sherwood expressed his disappointment over Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Hull but also claimed that the point earned could be a vital one for both sides at the end of the season. Paulinho’s second half effort cancelled out Shane Long’s first goal for his new club and with Everton winning, we now drop to sixth.

“We’re disappointed in the dressing room because we thought we’d come here and win the game,” said Sherwood after the match.

“I said before the game that every team will have their needs and we can’t allow anyone else’s to be bigger than ours. We wanted maximum points and that’s what we tried to get.”

Tim also praised our opponents who have been strong at home for much of this campaign.

“You have to give credit to Hull as well. They are fighting for their lives. They have spirit, can cause problems and they’ve beaten some good teams here,” he added.

“I didn’t think we were ever going to lose this game, and it could be an important point at the end of the season.”

With Liverpool drawing at West Brom, we remain just three points off fourth place but this weekend’s home game with Everton is starting to look like a must win if we are to stay on course for the Champions League lots.

  1. We don’t want nabil bentaleb and 4-4-2 formation at this time SPURES 7 SINGING DESERVE TO 4-3-3 FORMATION LLIORIS WALKER VERTOGHEN CHIRICICHES ROSE / SANDRO PAULINHO ERIKSON[DEMBLELE] / LAMELA[TOWNSED] SOLDADO[ADABAYER] CHADLI

    • ?????????????????? Sandro said he’s not yet fit enough to play. Townsend is still injured. Lamela also reckons he is injured. So how could Sherwood pick them?????

We didn’t play 4-4-2. Adebayor often dropped deeper than Soldado.

  2. Bentaleb was our best player.
Soldado was pathetic. Obviously we should have signed Shane Long.
We’re missing the penetration Townsend gives us.
Love Dawson but he’s a liability

  3. Agree. Why are the fans starting on Bentaleb. He played well. Lennon and Saldado were awful, and should have been subbed with 70mins to go.
Don’t understand why TS didn’t make changes?

    • I agree Jay. Soldado’s confidence and work rate are very poor. Lennon has no footballing brain (and a poor 1st touch), just speed and the ability to dribble. Yet recently he hasn’t tried to take on the full back. He to seems low on confidence. Both should have been subbed, IMO.

  4. Bentaleb has a great mentality. Really focused. His passing is good too. He will develop in to a great players, but he must be allowed to develop. Not a great result or performance on Saturday but not a disaster given we’re coming off the back of a 1-5 and Hull had two good strikers making a home debut. I don’t think Long would do well at Spurs funnily enough, he’s a great striker for feeding off scraps and turning nothing in to something but I doubt he’d have fitted into our style. Please Soldado, please come into form. Time is beginning to run out on Roberto sadly.

  5. Re Bentaleb typical of a section of Spurs negative crowd to moan about a young player, Kane, Rose etc are easy targets. Liverpool have support we have people who turn up for a show, hence the sorry atmosphere and malaise at home games. Still could Kolo Toure’s mistake against West Brom cause a slump in Liverpools form in a way Walker’s mistake at Annfield cost us last season. Hope so!.

  6. we need to drop dawson he is shocking on the ball put us in trouble every game with stray passes he also need to play lamella instead of lennon when he is fit

  7. Lennon never takes a corner or a free kick because he does not know how to kick a ball correctly cant cross a ball has scored one goal all season. He must never play for spurs again.
