There are three changes for Spurs from the side which played Everton at the weekend and in midfield, French international Etienne Capoue returns at the expense of Christian Eriksen. Meanwhile, club skipper Michael Dawson also drops to the bench with Younes Kaboul making his first start under Tim Sherwood as Kyle Naughton comes in at left back for Danny Rose.

The full starting XI reads

Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Naughton; Dembele, Bentaleb, Capoue, Paulinho, Lennon; Adebayor.

Subs – Friedel, Dawson, Chadli, Eriksen, Townsend, Kane, Soldado.

Unless there are any injuries there are one or two surprises tonight but how do you feel about Tim’s selection?

  1. I can’t understand Bentaleb in and Eriksen out. I am assuming Capoue will play DM role alongside Bentaleb and Dembele and Paulinho in more attacking roles (prolly Dembele on left) but this makes me scratch my head and continue to question whether Sherwood even has a clue.

  2. The wonderful Eriksen is dropped because he was poor on Sunday. If you don’t perform, don’t be surprised if you lose your place. Excellent man-management by TS. Keep up!
