In the wake of Sunday’s poor performance against Norwich City, there have been predictable calls for the club to bounce back when they face Cardiff this weekend. Keeper Hugo Lloris looked solid for the most part behind a shaky defence and it’s the Frenchman leading the rallying cry this afternoon.

“It’s a big disappointment,” Lloris said on the club’s official website. “We wanted more. We came here to get the three points but we didn’t do enough.

“We can’t accept this kind of game. We have to show more.

“We need to learn from this game and on Thursday, we have a big match in the Europa League and then next weekend, Cardiff. It’s important to have a good response.”

“We don’t need to lose that kind of game to react,” he added.

“When you have ambition you have to prove it every day, every training session and every time in the games. We have to keep working, keep going and hope we have a good response in both matches.”

After Cardiff, it’s a tough run of games with back to back fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal followed by Liverpool at the end of March. Tottenham’s ability to bounce back needs to extend beyond a home tie against the second from bottom club.
