A Tottenham insider has allegedly spoken about the future of multi-million pound misfit Erik Lamela and claimed that the club are looking at a summer swap deal that would bring AC Milan’s Stephan el Shaarawy to the club.
Our record signing has been absent with a prolonged injury that nobody seems to know too much about and with no date set for his return, the Argentine’s time is running out if he wants to make an impression in this campaign.
The ‘insider’ is quoted as saying,
“It’s no secret that Lamela hasn’t settled here and if we can do this deal that might be the best for everyone. El Shaarawy is a player we like and he could strengthen an important area for us and give us a few more goals.”
El Shaarawy is similar to Lamela in almost every sense. They are the same age – 21 – both can operate on the wing or up front and the two men have similar scoring records in Serie A. If the source is correct then it’s clearly felt that El Shaarawy can adapt better to English football but as with so many of these stories, the ITK element to it has to be debatable.
