Andre Villas-Boas’ arrival at Zenit St Petersburg was bound to spark a series of rumours linking him with current Spurs players. Several names have been mentioned but the one that crops up more than most is that of Brazilian international Paulinho.

How anyone would know AVB’s thoughts after this sudden appointment is anyone’s guess although an ‘insider’ is quoted as saying.

“Paulinho was one of the few new players AVB was happy with this season. I think there was always a chance he would look to sign him again at his next club.”

Losing Paulinho would spark a mixed reaction among Tottenham fans but there would be little in the way of divided opinion if we were to lose Kyle Naughton. Brought to White Hart Lane along with Kyle Walker, Naughton has alternated between the left back and right back slots but has rarely looked comfortable in either. It’s thought that Norwich and West Ham are in the frame in a deal that would keep the player in the Premiership and that is likely to suit all parties.

  1. Take Paulinho for £15m and Naughton can go for £3m. Promote Fredericks as back up RB and put the money towards a quality forward.

  2. Capoue .chadli. Paulinio.siggy.rose.naughton.and I will say vertongen as he could not give a shit about the club and he looks like he has already made his mind up plus Loris won’t be far behind him. Anyone that don’t want to be there can Fuck off .

  3. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of shit articles that are written about Spurs the club, and it’s players. If any of you believe just half the tripe that’s written in an assortment of newspapers and random blogs, you’d be forgiven for believing that Spurs will be fielding an entire youth team next season because all of the senior pros will be sold this Summer and Tim Sherwood will be relieved of his post to be replaced by a chimp whom our beloved Chairman feels can do a better job.

  4. my choice line up for next year
    Lloris
    Richards, Caulker, Chiriches, Davies
    Capoue
    Lamela, Eriksen, Lalana
    Soldado, Benteke

    What we will get :
    Gomes
    Walker, Dawson, Kaboul, Rose
    Lennon, Benteleb (c), Sandro, Townsend
    Kane, Chadli

  5. It would be a massive mistake selling paulinho the guy is quality, just watch the Brazil matches and remember the stoke match, modric didn’t settle in straight away so didn’t bale, don’t be jokers and judge the players too fast trust me chadli and paulinho are very technically gifted but agree Sherwood is a plonker

  6. Paulinho must be the worst midfielder ever to put on a Spurs shirt.

AVB would be welcome to him and all the other donkeys that he brought to the club.

  7. Matt that’s what you probably said about bale and modric in their first season, he can do stuff with the ball that your best friend Lennon could only dream of.

  8. I wouldn’t sell Paulinho. Has only looked good in two games (Newcastle and Stoke) but he has potential. As for Naughton, he seems ok on the right for me. Had a reasonable game on Sunday. It’s when he gets played out of position on the left that he looks terrible.

  9. would ship out dawson rose naughton paulinho capoure and siggurdson bring in ashley cole micah richards and benteke and louis van gaul as manager he can also bring in any of the dutch squad he wants to

  10. wow not much else to say really the first thing to do is get our new manager ready to at least show the players we mean to excel next year come on you spurs

  11. The Spurs decline is truly breaking

my heart!!! From happy Harry times with the likes of VDV, Modric, Bale, King… To this utter CRAP we’re watching week in week out!!! Naughton, Rose, Dawson, Chadli, Kane, Capoue… These players are NOT Premiership quality never mind deserve the right to wear the Spurs shirt!!! Mr Levy WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO OUR CLUB??? The other day I heard a quote mentioned which I found hilarious and sad at the same time, but very true! ‘We are back to playing the Spursy way!!’ Baldini OUT Sherwood OUT Deadwood OUT Levy ON BORROWED TIME – SORT IT OUT AND QUICK!!!

    • No good wishing for those days to come back… although it was mind boggling at best, you have to admit, there was a sense of hope when you all saw AVB was hired. I can’t believe that was less than 2 years ago…. how quickly hopes fade to frustrations.
