The main news ahead of tomorrow’s game with Fulham is the return of Mousa Dembele who is now in contention to play against his old club. Michael Dawson and Roberto Soldado have also returned to training although this game may come too early for both.

Meanwhile, Kyle Walker, Etienne Capoue, Jan Vertonghen and the elusive Erik Lamela remain sidelined.

It’s important that we concentrate on the job in hand,” Tim Sherwood said. “The boys get paid a lot of money to play for Tottenham and we owe it to the fans that will turn out and watch them to keep focused on the game. If I see they are not focused on the game, then they don’t play.”

In defence, there must be a concern over Vlad Chiriches whose first half performance led to a substitution at the break. Otherwise, it may well be the same side that started against West Brom, although we would prefer to see Sigurdsson in for Chadli while Kane will hopefully get the nod over Soldado, even if the latter is fit.

Here’s our starting XI buts what’s your view?

  1. Agree with your team but keep faith with Vlad. Bad game last week but he needs a consistent run in the team and dropping him is not the answer. COYS

    • Hate tottenham blogs team always do it’s always similar to what Sherwood chooses that’s a bad sign and know you got noobs agreeing with your team

  2. Completely agree vlad Needs a Run in the team, but tim nice but dim will Drops Him probably demoralising the Poor bloke further.

  3. …………………..Lloris
    Walker Kaboul Chiriches Fryers
    ……………Sandro….Dembele
    ………………….Paulinho
    …Townsend………………Eriksen
    ………………….Adebayor

Cant stand Rose either, we seriously need a left-back. It pisses me off that Sherwood doesn`t even know who our best players are. Had enough of Bentaleb aswell. Lennon doesn`t seem to be making life difficult for defenders anymore. This has to be our best possible team for the weekend, but don`t expect clueless Tim to field a team like this.

  4. Can’t agree enough with everyone about rose he’s is an absolute liabilty gets caught out every time sh…t at crossing fryers is by far the better bet I’d go with Lloris , naughton kaboul chiriches fryers Townsend dembele paulino eriksen ade Kane wish walker was fit though

  5. Lloris
    Naughton-Kaboom-Chiriches-Fryers
    Chadli-Dembele-Paulinho-Townsend
    Eriksen
    Ade

Play a 4-4-1-1 with Eriksen right behind Ade. Give Townsend a run in last four games down the left hand side and let him gain some confidence plus will get us out of our half a lot quicker versus the lethargic starts we’ve had. Lennon hasn’t done enough for me on the right so give Nacer or Siggy a chance down on the right. If Sandro is still not fit, I would pair Dembele and Paulinhobin the middle for some midfield solidity/control. Let Eriksen and Ade continue to develop an understanding up front.

  6. lennon created all our goals last week so not done too bad ….bentelab is not even 20 yet so lets get real he is bound to have bad games as he’s just learning. Support the players dont slag them off.

    • This Ragged Arse Rovers bunch of tempermental tarts have had all the support any team could have hoped for and they still dish up crap. So telling a few home truths is well overdue. Oh, and I think it was Naughton that caused the OG last week despite what the media and papers said.

  7. Why on earth have you picked Paulinho?

He must be the worst midfielder ever to put on a Spurs shirt. Absolute rubbish and totally ineffective player.

The only player worse than him is Danny Rose who is not a defender in a million years.

The only players who looked good in the last two games were Eriksen and Kane. So these two must definitely start. It is a shame that Holtby and Carroll have been loaned out because these four players would be a great combination.

  8. I agree that Paulinho is awful and must be the most overrated player in premier league history. It is all because he is Brazilian and so he is supposed to be good because all brazilian players are meant to be. What a load of nonsense. He is far worse than Jenas ever was, which says it all.

    Lennon…..ade……..Townsend.

Lennon has been pretty bad of late but spurs are short in that area and at least he is an actual winger.
Agree about vlad, the guy had a bad game but I think he will come good and needs games for confidence.

    • A bit too imbalanced for my liking. Paulinho is not disciplined enough or have the footballing mindset to play that holding midfield role. Other than that, the defense looks solid and there is creativity with Adebayor and Eriksen through the middle.

Paulinho is awseome I watched him confederate cup, he will be amazing in the World Cup as we’ll just wait ,it’s our system that’s letting us down.

  11. Nyce selection , however fryers for rose, at left back , vlad in with kaboul , dawson get out paced to easiy , vlad is a far better bet ,townsend for lennon, and let’s just say that the poor start at wba last weak was dwn to team management , did any body see the warm up ?? The boys were cawt cold , come tim stop spreading the maddness
