At the time of writing there is no official word from the club in terms of team news. We do know that Etienne Capoue returned to training in midweek but this may be a little too soon for the Frenchman to return to the team while we will have to assume that Jan Vertonghen, Erik Lamela and Kyle Walker are all sidelined.
Don’t rule out a return for Sandro – Tim Sherwood was involved in a similar, if milder exchange of views with Paulinho before bringing him back into the side and it may just be the coach’s way of ‘firing them up’!
Up front, there may be a switch to 4-5-1 at a ground where Stoke are very strong but hopefully, Harry Kane’s three goals in three games will keep him in the starting XI.
Here’s how we think it will start – although we would rather see Sandro and Sigurdsson brought in for Paulinho and Chadli. In the meantime, what’s your view?

..bit off topic, but such a shame for Andros that he’s not got any game-time in Tim’s reign. Lennon won’t go to the WC, and I guess neither will Andros now. He looked promising at the start of the season, and stood out as the best-of-a-bad-bunch, although his best game was for England. Lennon has not set the world alight, but I guess offers more all-round than Andros, so can’t fault Tim on this.
..anyway, I’d go: Lloris, Naughton, Kaboul, Fryers, Rose (nows thats a dodgy back 4 on current form, eh?), Sandro, Paulinho, Eriksen, Lennon, Kane, Adebayor.
Come on Harry, keep scoring to the end of the season! A striker with a full Uncle Albert beard leading the line and banging them in next season would keep my love for the club going! Not seen since the days of Alan Cork for Sheffield Utd et al…

He has scored 1 goal for spurs all season and that was a mis hit cross that managed to find its way in the back of the net vs villa. He has not assisted once.
The only thing he has done is score a goal for england. Thats it!
I dont understand how people can say he was in form for scoring once and assisting 0. Danny rose has had a better return from left back – says it all really.
Andros townsend is not a good player and has produced nothing this season.

Yeah I get where you’re coming from and tend to agree, but at the start of the season he was the only player showing anything going forward, and was hoping (as he obviously was) that he’d get a few more on target and score some wonder goals. Would have been better if he put a few more crosses in instead of trying to be Bale of course. Can’t blame the kid for trying. I still hope he comes good, but not so sure he will at the mo.
Apparently Dawson is fit and he’ll be needed against Stoke instead of the promising Fryers, who could replace Rose at left back. Apart from that I’d play Eriksen wide left. Sandro hasn’t really been fully fit this season and Paulinho seems to be settling well in central midfield alongside Dembele if he’s fit. Stoke are going well and playing decent football so it’s a big test of our wonky defence.

Wow what a laughing stock of a defense! I coach and manage seven year olds, and the first thing I drum into them is defense. If you don’t concede your going to win a lot of games and it works! Levy really needs to put some serious investment into our back line, and a striker!!! Its blatant everyone to see! With our backline we expect to concede 3 goals a game and this just is not acceptable!!!! COYS
Based on the team news and training pictures it will be the same as against Fulham except Dawson instead of Fryers.
Dembele would have taken Chadli’s place but he’s now got an ankle injury.

Vlad and Jan and the back ,fryer to the left, have no choice as right back, Sandro to occupy the hole ,as its gona get really rough in the midfield with Charlie the rugby player ,Chadli on the ryt Townsend on the left Erickson behind Harry /Ade/Soldado, it would interesting to note how Sandro and Paulinho play together and we play a lone striker ,no wonder Tim can select a side ,with the quality that we have who would be able to , lets pray that moyes does not get that oppertunity… COYS
