Have Sky Sports done it again by finally catching up with a rumour that was doing the news rounds for weeks or is the Frank De Boer link really something new? Earlier this month, the station advised that Tim Sherwood would be replaced at the end of the season – something most fans realised was going to happen from the moment he was appointed – so is the latest offering a similar rehash?

It started with the current Ajax manager claiming he had received an approach from the club.

“I’m going to listen and talk,” he said, after stating that he’d been informed of the call from footballing director Marc Overmars. “Then I’ll make my feelings known.”

Later in the evening however, Spurs supposedly denied the story.

Whatever the truth may be, De Boer is the new odds on favourite to take over with Louis Van Gaal slipping from a similar price to around 20/1. The Ajax boss has just claimed his fourth Eredivisie title as a manager but would be a perfect fit at White Hart Lane?

  1. I have said it all along. De Boer is the man.
The rumours in the Danish press is that Michael Laudrup (who grew up in Ajax) is Cruyff’s favourite to take over.
    It makes perrfect sense.
Come on Levy. Make it happen…

    In Levy we trust.
