Dimitar Berbatov is the latest ex-Spur to be confirmed for Ledley King’s testimonial giving the sentimental among us another chance to see one of our best players from the last few seasons. At the same time, a section of supporters might be hoping that our own scouts are in the crowd to see if the Bulgarian has what it takes to make a Klinsmann-like ‘second coming’ at the Lane.
“I am really looking forward to returning to White Hart Lane to play in Ledley’s testimonial,” said Berbatov.
“It is a fitting tribute for a great player and I can’t wait to meet up with some of the past and present players. It should be a great night not just for Ledley but for the fans too.”
Since joining Monaco from Fulham in the January transfer window, Dimitar has scored five times in ten league matches – a respectable record that will no doubt spark a host of new transfer rumours once his current, short term contract comes to an end.
The question will be asked again and for once, would you like those ‘Berbatov to White Hart Lane’ stories to come true?
Ledley’s testimonial takes place on Monday 12th May – tickets are still available via the club website.
Absolutely – The night is about Ledley and Ledley’s charities .. if Berbatov wants to come back to support this I for one am very happy .. now if only Jurgen could get himself down here …
spot on. Got nothing to do with whether we want him here or not. One of the best footballers this club has had and I welcome him back. Perhaps our current miss firing rabble could learn something, like where the bloody goals are situated on a pitch !!
No, no, and NO!!!
You had me at Dimi.
And why are spoilt brats who went on strike considered appropriate for a testimonial?
