Spurs are among a number of British clubs linked with a move for Juventus’ Sebastian Giovinco who is a versatile player who can fill similar roles to the much missed Rafael Van Der Vaart. The 27 year old who has 17 full international caps for Italy can perform as an outright attacking midfielder or as a second striker and could be a good fit at White Hart Lane if the rumour is true,
Giovinco’s agent talked up the possibility of a move when asked about his client’s future,
“I am not surprised that Arsenal and Tottenham are being linked, considering the quality of Arsene Wenger’s choices and the fine level of Tottenham’s squad,” Andrea D’Amico told the Italian Press.
“However, they are not the only clubs. Olympiakos, Monaco and Liverpool? There are many other teams, as Giovinco is appreciated everywhere.
“Before anything we’ll talk to Juventus and then we’ll see.”
Giovinco has a respectable scoring record in Italy and it’s certainly an interesting link but with so much reported interest from around Europe there may just be too much competition for the club to seal a deal.
