Earlier in the week it was reported that Spurs had turned down a bid from Juventus for our record signing Erik Lamela and in turn, it was felt that the Argentine would be given another chance to impress at the club. Ever since Mauricio Pochettino took over as head coach, the feeling was that he would pay special attention to his compatriot and now, according to the Daily Mail, the boss has assured the player that he has a future at the club.

Not only that but the Mail’s report goes on to claim that Pochettino has earmarked Erik to play a key role for the club in 2014-15 as he outlined his vision for the upcoming campaign.

After a difficult first season, Lamela has returned to Argentina to work on his fitness and should be available again in August. If you believe what the paper has printed, the Argentine will not only feature more heavily, he will become one of Pochettino’s first names on the team sheet but would we finally see the reasons why Spurs paid so much for his services?

    • I think you are really a closset Spurs fan, or are you one if them gay gooners everybody is talking about, but for any gooner to be on a Spurs blog page you really must lead a shit life with no mates should change your name to BILLY

  1. LOL ……………..good to hear if Pochettino can get lamela playing in position which best suits him playing and performing for spurs next season could be very good.

The kid got talent just needs more time on the pitch to get use to the English league COYS !!!

  2. Once fully fit, Erik Lamela will come good particularly under this head coach who isn’t only a compatriot of Lamela’s therefore able to better communicate with him but he appears to bring the best out of talented young players which Lamela undoubtedly is. Pochettino has also played at the highest level for Argentina and is tactically astute. The coming season could be very interesting indeed as Spurs have a very talented squad of players whom we certainly haven’t seen the best of as yet. A few more additions could see a major change in fortunes. Time will tell.
