The sale of Jake Livermore to Hull City could herald the shifting of some deadwood at Spurs and it’s widely reported that fringe striker Jonathan Obika could be the next to depart White Hart Lane. As he approaches his 24th birthday, the forward has yet to make a league appearance for his parent club and it certainly looks like this could be time to move on.

Obika’s six years at Tottenham have featured no less than 11 loan spells – the latest of these sent him to Charlton for the second half of last season. However, the player failed to score in 12 league games for the South London side and rumours of a permanent move to the Valley seem to have underwhelmed Addicks supporters.

Other teams mentioned include Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Bristol City. Of course, another loan spell isn’t out of the question but surely it’s time for a permanent transfer to be put in place?

  1. He has just signed a new contract!!!

He is kept because he is homegrown so we can add him as one of the 8 required homegrown players. When we have enough he will be loaned out again to a Championship club, Dawkins was performing the same role previously.
