The name of Ben Davies had been touted as a possible left back signing right at the beginning of June but with the transfer window set to open, the Mirror claim that an £8m deal is set to go through. At 21, Davies has been with Swansea City for his entire professional career and his performances at the Liberty Stadium have so far earned him ten caps for the Welsh senior side.
The left side of defence has been a problem area for the club for at least two years now and Davies’ potential arrival will surely lead to some changes among the existing squad. Danny Rose is unlikely to be happy at becoming second choice and would probably be moved on, leaving Zeki fryers as cover.
At 21, Fryers is the same age as Davies but while he has said he will be targeting more first team opportunities, the former Manchester United man would be happier than Rose to wait his turn.
The Mirror goes on to claim that the £8m fee has been agreed and that the player is on his way to agree personal terms. Many left backs have been linked but would you be happy for Ben Davies to fill this problem slot?
decent signing that, if its true. I had him in my fantasy team last year so kept an eye on his form and he is a left back that can actually defend !! Hopefully this will mean some more sensible signings rather than just buying identical midfielders !!!

Davies if definetely one of the best left backs in top flight and thats been our big problem area for the last couple of years.

if spurs get ben davies for 8 million it is either because huw jenkins was drunk or daniel levy has some incriminating evidence on him.davies is far more experienced in both the premiership and internationally than luke shaw but i forgot shaw plays for england and look how well they have done!
Would be a great signing. He’s been Swansea’s young player of the year for the past 2 years. I don’t think Rose will go anywhere though. People have slagged Rose off but he’s got talent and i’m sure he’ll fight for his place as he’s not going to get a move to a bigger club.
