Depending on which areas of the press you happen to read this morning, Spurs have either received an official bid for Gylfi Sigurdsson or there have been no enquiries for the Icelandic international who was on the fringes of the first team last season.

Sig was originally thought to be part of a deal that would bring Ben Davies and / or Wilfried Bony from Swansea to White Hart Lane. The player was previously on loan at the Liberty Stadium and another temporary option was mooted at the time.

However, silence has descended on the Davies deal and over the weekend, first reports of an official bid from Crystal Palace began to emerge. Elsewhere, that story has been denied while there is also a claim that Sigurdsson intends to stay and fight for his place in the Spurs set up.

Further developments will come in as the week unfolds but if Gylfi does intend to remain at the club, should the new coach use him more often in the coming campaign?

  1. Keeepppp Siggurdsonn at any Costtt!!!

He is highly under-rated. He has been totally Amazingg for Spurs till now whenever required. Be it substitute appearances, Europa goals or waiting for hi turn on the bench.

He is one Awesome Team Player who has never been a problem to the manager even if he is not playing. He has got amazing skill and talent as well as the goal scoring touch.Dont forget the kind of amazing goals he has scored in the past… Be it Our Goal of the Season against hull or the Amazingg 90th Min winner against Southampton.

Moreover he started the season Brilliantly with 3 goals in two matches before being put on the bench by AVB for no reason. He has done well in every match he has played apart from a few matches where whole team has played bad collectively. Later on he got injured which was unfortunate.
Before start of every season he has said he wants to fight for his place which clearly means he loves spurs and wants to stay there.

He doesnt deserve to be sold!!!

  2. Got to agree there I think he have shown us enough of what he can do just never really been given a chance we need players who score big goals you can’t fault his work rate either I wouldn’t sell him

  3. The money we get for siggy should go on a left back for the good of the team. Eriksen is a far better player, and lamela will be awesome given chance. Coys

    • Sig is the kind of talent that is good enough to play for us but average enough (and with the right personality) to be willing to wait on the bench when he has to.

Do people really expect world class players to not play all the time? We need depth and he’s the kind of player you want for that.

  4. don’t sell sig he’s a good player who gets goals and we need bony he will bang the goals in ,he’s a must buy so levy give swansea the £20 mill and get your finger out your backside

  5. Eriksen and lamela may be better but for us who are gonna compete in 4 competitions we need players like Siggurdson in our squad who are very good and who can definitely assure that players like eriksen and lamela get their rest and do not have to travel to various countries for europa league fixtures.

Plus, Siggurdsonn if given a fair chance and a run of games can become a reallly Amazing Premier League player. I want him to be that with us and not with Crystal Palace or any other team.

I’m not saying dont sell for Crazy Money like 15-20 mill or davies swap because those will be good deals for the club but 8 mil is just too cheap for him.
