At 20 years old, it’s hard to know what to expect from new signing Eric Dier this season. He hasn’t, as some people seem to have expected, been loaned straight back out so he will be part of the first team this campaign and in his first interview with the club’s official website, the defender outlined his expectations.
“Spurs is a massive club, I’ve known about them since I was young and always enjoyed the way they play, the attacking football and coming from Portugal, that will suit me,” he said.
“This season I just want to adapt quickly to the Premier League and just do the best I can, try my hardest and have a good first season here.”
Eric spent most of his early life in Portugal where football quickly took over but after spending so much time with Sporting Lisbon, he insists his ambitions always laid elsewhere.
“It’s always been my ambition, my dream to come back to England and play in the Premier League so I’m really happy to be back,” he added.
Dier talks openly about adapting to the Premiership but how do you see Spurs using the 20 year old this season?
