It’s been many years now since Spurs were first linked with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and every time there is a hint that the striker may be leaving his current club, Tottenham are guaranteed to be in with a mention as part of a host of interested teams.

It’s happened again with reports that his German side Schalke 04 are prepared to let the player go in January but although he is now 31 and still susceptible to the odd injury, is now the best time to actually make a move?

For one thing, the fee has dropped sharply and it’s claimed that the Dutchman could be landed for as little as £3m. The money involved may have declined but the player’s record remains a good one – 61 goals in 106 league games for Schalke and four in nine this season in all competitions.

We keep talking about strikers and Huntelaar has been linked so many times that it’s almost a joke. However, is it time we started getting serious about the Dutchman?

  1. Hes a definite proven goal scorer as was soldado! huntelaar hasnt great pace and is ageing so will never get any faster!! Not sure on this one really. I think someone such as rodriquez can play on the left also and add pace which is what we need! coys
