Watford have announced the signing of Etienne Capoue for a club record fee.
The French international made just 36 appearances in two seasons at Spurs having been signed for £9.3m in 2011. He’s the latest fringe player to be sold this summer by the club as Mauricio Pochettino tries to rebuild the squad. Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news.

Delighted Capoue has gone. Poor footballer. Slow, lazy and unfit.

Hope Capoue does well at Watford, clearly a decent player there. He was just so bad at tracking opposition runners.

Capoue now gone, another one off the wage bill- after an impressive first few months, he got worse & worse. #THFC

Personally think Capoue's a good signing for Watford got a feeling he's going to prove a few people wrong if he gets his head together.
