Spurs have been linked with a January move for the Belgian striker Laurent Depoitre.

The Gent striker is something of a late-bloomer, having just earned his first international call-up for Belgium aged 26.

Depoitre has spent the majority of his career in the lower divisions of the Belgian league, only making his top flight debut with promoted KV Oostende in the 2013-14 season.

Joining Gent on a free transfer in 2014-15, Depoitre became an important part of the side that won the club’s first ever championship last season and has started this campaign brightly, scoring six goals.

Compared to Christian Benteke, the big striker’s abilities are demonstrated in this video which shows all of his goals for Gent last season.

Strong, good on the deck and in the air, Depoitre might be worth a January gamble by Tottenham as they look to add reinforcements.
